Jamie Duffy

IMDb

At just 24, Jamie Duffy has emerged as one of Ireland’s most compelling new artists, blending folk, classical, and contemporary influences into a sound that’s both intimate and cinematic. His debut single Solas became the most streamed debut by an Irish artist since Hozier’s Take Me To Church, with over 130 million streams on Spotify, 25 million YouTube views and 6.6 billion views on TikTok.

In 2024, the folk-classical composer released his debut EP On A Wing, sold out his first Irish headline tour and supported Andrea Bocelli and Hans Zimmer at BST Hyde Park. Now, with over 1.8 million monthly listeners on Spotify, he’s recently released his eponymous debut album. Performing on both piano and Irish whistle, and augmented by cello, violin and viola, the album features sweeping, atmospheric instrumental pieces that blend cinematic orchestration with intimate Irish traditional elements. It was crafted over two years between Ireland and Iceland and overseen by producer Atli Örvarsson.

Jamie has just finished his debut film score, working again with Atli on the feature 500 Miles. The film stars Bill Nighy, Maisie Williams, Roman Griffin Davis and Clare Dunne and is based on ‘Charlie and Me’ by Mark Lowery. It follows the story of two brothers who run away from home in England to reach their estranged grandfather on Ireland's west coast. Directed by Morgan Matthews and written by Malcolm Campbell.
