Since graduating with a BA in Music from the University of York and an MA in Composition for Film and TV from the University of Bristol, Oliver worked as an assistant and music editor to Oscar–winning composer Gabriel Yared.

He later formed the duo dimitroli productions with his partner, Dimitra Christofidou. Together, they continue to collaborate on a wide range of film and television projects, working with composers such as Stephen Warbeck, Bryce Dessner and Erwann Chandon.

Oliver’s recent credits feature music editing and orchestration on the four-time Oscar-nominated film Train Dreams (Joel Edgerton, Felicity Jones), including its Oscar–nominated Original Song; score editing for Taika Waititi’s upcoming film Klara and the Sun (Amy Adams, Jenna Ortega), with music by Michael Giacchino; and music editing/orchestration on the Disney+/National Geographic series Photographer, whose score received an Emmy nomination.
